Help a Family in Need in Williamstown
Good afternoon Blue Devil Family,
As many of you already know, Valerie and Brock Parrott lost their home, 3 dogs, 2 cats, bunny and parrott in a house fire yesterday. Gerry and I met with the family today. This is a devastating loss for them, especially the loss of their family pets-this is weighing the heaviest on them all. Their oldest daughter Autumn is helping as a bridge in our efforts to support the family. Valerie, Brock, Thomas, Fasika, Silas and Lok are all doing “ok” but are in need of some help.
Valerie has given me permission to share this with all of you as we come together to support them. The family will be displaced with extended family while the fire marshal, investigators and insurance company come together to move the process along for them to make decisions on their next steps.
In the meantime there are a number of ways to help if you are able:
- A GoFundMe page has been initiated by their daughter Autumn: GoFundMe Link
- A Pampered Chef fundraiser has been initiated by Amber Haley with all proceeds going to the family: Pampered Chef
- A fundraising corn hole tournament is planned for Saturday, August 20th at 10:30am at the Seaver Field in Williamstown. The WES PTO President Katlin Wheatley is looking for donations of hotdogs and buns for this event. She can be messaged via Facebook messenger if you are able to provide towards this event.
- The family has lost everything. Gift cards to Walmart, TJMaxx and Hannaford would be the most helpful to the family at this time. I would be happy to collect and bring to the family on a frequent basis. At this time it will be hard for them to accept donations of items because they do not have a place to put them.
Please keep this family in your thoughts as they navigate this challenge day to day. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
